Smarter Drafter Pro has a refreshed, modern UI that’s cleaner and more consistent. We’ve also added the ability to map User Profile fields (including signatures) in the Builder Word add-in, making it simpler to include the document creator’s details in automations.
Other improvements include matter details and role assignments in Preview, an option to share profile signatures, and a new company icon in the Builder Word add-in.

User Profile fields in Builder Word add-in
To improve the ease of being able to include the details of the person generating the
document in an automation, a new User Profile field section will be available in the Builder
Word add-in to map the profile attributes available in Smarter Drafter, including their
signature.

This release introduces Fast Start, an AI-powered tool (in public beta) that lets Builder users upload Word templates to instantly generate a first draft form - saving time and effort by automating field detection, form creation, and template mapping.
Additional updates include a new Submissions API endpoint, improved User Mapping (now supports Postal Address), enhanced Section Block permissions, and Unity Field Mapping to prevent duplicate aliases and improve UX. Several bug fixes improve form importing, user profile updates, role selection, and Unity error handling.

Fast Start AI Form Builder (Public Beta)
Fast Start is an AI powered method to help you start building a form. Instead of starting from scratch, you can now upload an existing Word precedent - and let Smarter Drafter do the heavy lifting.
Introducing Fast Start, Smarter Drafter’s AI‐powered automation accelerator. Builder-permission users can now upload a Word precedent and let Fast Start analyse it to generate a draft form and questionnaire automatically—eliminating the need to start from scratch.
Key Capabilities:- Automated Document Analysis: Upload your precedent and Fast Start will detect sections, name fields, and assign types automatically
- Form Building: Transforms Word documents into structured forms linked to templates - ready for review
- Template Mapping: Fields are automatically mapped to your existing Word template, reducing manual mapping work
- Other updates:
- Public API: Submissions mapping endpoint
- New User Mapping option to map a user's Postal Address for the Office they are associated with
- Section Block permission options to support similar method as Builder permissions, to improve the ability to grant access to all section blocks created
- Unity Field Mapping: when a form does not have field aliases mapped to an Enquiry object, the create new enquiry option during form submission will no longer appear
- Preventing same field alias from being mapped twice to the same Unity object - this causes issues with bringing in the data to the right field from Unity
