Managed Content
Draft from Smarter Drafter’s library of pre-built precedents and court forms.
Managed Content is a library of pre-built forms, precedents and court forms across every major Australian practice area, maintained by the Smarter Drafter content team. When a court form or precedent changes, the update reaches your firm automatically, so you’re always drafting from the current version without building or maintaining the forms yourself.
Your firm’s admins control which managed folders and forms are available to you, so you won’t see forms your firm already has its own version of. To learn how admins enable and disable managed content, see Administer Managed Content. Managed Content is a paid subscription.
TIP: Managed forms are also available through the iManage integration, the Smarter Drafter MCP Server and the public APIs.
How to
1. Go to Form Library.
2. Open the Managed Content folder, pinned below All Forms.
3. Browse the folders or search for the form you need. Managed forms show the Managed tag.
4. Click Start a form.
5. Fill in the form. Your firm’s logo, organisation, office and user profile details populate automatically if the form has that set up.
6. Submit the form to generate your documents.
IMPORTANT: Managed Content doesn’t currently support Matter Record or the Actionstep and Unity deep integrations, so matter data isn’t pre-filled. You can still search and add contacts from your practice management system.
Common questions
Q: Can I edit or customise a managed form?
A: No. Managed forms are maintained centrally by the Smarter Drafter content team and can’t be edited by your firm.
Q: Why can’t I see a form I expected to find?
A: Your firm’s admins control which managed folders and forms are available, and who can see them. If you can’t see the Managed Content folder or a specific form, ask your admin. See Administer Managed Content.
Q: Why isn’t client or matter data pre-filling the form?
A: Managed Content doesn’t currently support Matter Record or the Actionstep and Unity deep integrations, so matter data isn’t reused. You can still search your practice management contacts. Enter any other details directly into the form.
Q: How do I know a managed form is up to date?
A: Every managed form is kept current by the Smarter Drafter content team. Updates apply automatically, so there’s nothing for you to check or sync.
Q: How does my firm get Managed Content?
A: Managed Content is a paid subscription. Contact the Smarter Drafter team to add it to your plan.
