Version 7.0.0

This release introduces Matter Record, enabling automatic data reuse across forms so fillers can work faster and with greater accuracy. When a matter is selected, relevant fields pre-populate, roles are auto-assigned, and any conflicts are clearly shown. 

We’ve also rolled out major updates to Organisation, Offices & Branding, including a new scalable interface for managing multiple offices and dynamic branding at both organisation and office levels.

Navigation has been streamlined for a more intuitive experience, with clearer menu names and improved layout. Finally, several bugs have been resolved to enhance reliability and performance.

🌟 What’s new:

  • Matter Record
    Matter Record allows previously entered data for a matter to be reused in subsequent form submissions. When a filler selects a matter, relevant fields are pre-populated, roles are auto-assigned, and any conflicts are surfaced.
    • Automatic data reuse – When fillers select a matter, information previously entered is automatically populated in forms with matching fields.
    • Streamlined filler experience – Instead of an overwhelming role assignment table, fillers now see a clean summary view, with an optional dropdown to inspect or adjust role assignments.
    • Conflict handling – If conflicting role assignments are detected, users are clearly informed and guided. We also show how many document roles have been successfully assigned.

 

NOTE: Matter Record will be introduced progressively to all environments over the coming weeks. Reach out to your Smarter Drafter representative or Partner if you need immediate access.

  • Organisation, Offices & Branding Optimisations
    A new scalable user interface for managing multiple offices and dynamic custom branding that allows builders to apply their brand assets, at both the organisation and office levels, into document automations. 
    • Firm will be renamed to Organisation to align with moving towards an industry agnostic product.
    • Organisation and Offices will move to a separate tab to give this more visibility and screen real estate.
    • Account > Branding will no longer exist, given branding needs to live at the Organisation or Office level
    • Dynamic method to add custom branding at the Organisation and Offices level, and have these available for use in Word add-in
    • Word add-in will be updated to:
      • Rename Firm to Organisation
      • Organisation will have its own page under More - this will have separate sections for Organisation Fields and Organisation Branding
      • Offices will have its own page under More - this will have separate sections for Office Fields and Office Branding
      • Branding Icon and Logo previously under Company Fields will be moved under Organisation Branding
    • New Office field in form builder to allow fillers to select an Office saved in Smarter Drafter which will allow for conditional rules to be applied on a document for things such as associating the right branding to the document.

  • Navigation changes
    Based on lots of feedback, core changes to the navigation will improve the intuitiveness and logical placement of menu items.
    • New top bar and new method to collapse the left side menu
    • Renamed Fill to Form Library and moved this to its own main left hand menu item
    • Renamed Forms to Build on the left hand menu, and automations will now be under a menu item called Forms
    • Moved Section Blocks from Application Settings, to be under Build
    • Moved Application Settings under Build and renamed this to Assets
    • Moved Clause Bank from Application Settings to its own left hand menu item
    • Moved Groups under Users & Permissions
    • Move placement of Data-Driven Automation in the left hand menu to be below Integrations
    • New icons for Submission, Form Library and Build

🔧 Bug fixes:

  • Required checkbox appearing for Rich Text Fields
  • User overrides not saving on submission and default populated Unity details are populating the submission
  • ABN/ACN number not populating from Unity when mapped

Version 6.5.0

This release introduces a new Integrations page where all integrations and webhooks are brought together in a single, prominent location. Enhancements to webhooks adds more identifiers, Companies and End Users are now no longer displayed in SD Pro and also a number of minor improvements.

🌟 What’s new:

  • Integrations & Webhooks optimisations

    Integrations and Webhooks are unified into a new, dedicated “Integrations” page, featured prominently in the left-hand menu.
    • Enhanced UI/UX: the new page will offer enhanced UI/UX through a better categorisation of integrations and clear indication of which integrations are enabled.
    • Separate Permission: a new permission under Admin permissions called “Integrations” will allow for more granular access controls to Integrations and Webhooks.
  • Other updates:
    • Submission answers webhook now includes field ref, field alias and role in each question.
    • Knowledge Base AI Assistant
    • Creating a Name field will no longer set Title Case as default Casing option.
    • End User option no longer visible in Smarter Drafter Pro.
    • Companies option no longer visible in Smarter Drafter Pro.
    • Option in Form Settings to not generate the combined document output when splitting documents.

🔧 Bug fixes:

  • For a currency field, dragging currency overwrites other currencies in the list.
  • Error displayed when uploading 2 or more files in Documents Templates.
  • Save button issue in Intake settings
