Navigating the Smarter Drafter Dashboard

Learn how to navigate the Dashboard in Smarter Drafter Pro.

The dashboard is your starting point in Smarter Drafter Pro. It’s designed to help you work faster by surfacing relevant shortcuts, favourites, and recent activity - tailored to your role and permissions.

Instructions

Step 1: Log in to Smarter Drafter Pro
Once logged in, you’ll land on the Dashboard. You can return here anytime using the navigation bar.

Step 2: Review your role-based layout
While all Dashboards provide access to a user's recent activity, your dashboard will look slightly different depending on your permissions:

  • Builders: see quick actions like Build a new form, Build a Section Block, and Add a new user
  • Fillers (standard users): see actions like Generate a new document and support links
  • Custom dashboards can also be generated dynamically based on your unique permissions. If you have access to fewer than three core actions, the dashboard will automatically include links to the Learning Centre and Release Notes to ensure the space remains helpful.

Step 3: Use Quick Actions to jump into work

You’ll see up to 4 Quick Action buttons at the top of your dashboard, such as:

  • Build a new form
  • Build a new section block
  • Generate a new document
  • Add a new user
  • Visit the Learning Centre

Quick actions adjust based on your permissions.

Step 4: Scan your Recent Activity panel
This panel helps you quickly return to recently:

  • Submitted forms
  • In-progress drafts
  • Modified forms

New Dashboard 3Each item shows its status, timestamp, and is clickable for fast resumption.

Common Issues & Solutions

Issue: I don’t see all the Quick Actions listed above
Solution: Actions are permission-based. If you don’t have access to build or admin features, only relevant actions will display.

Issue: My Recent Activity panel is empty
Solution: This panel only populates after you've submitted, modified, or saved a form.

Issue: A form in Recent Activity won’t open
Solution: This typically means the form was deleted. If you believe this is in error, confirm with your team or contact support.

Issue: My dashboard looks different from a colleague's
Solution: This is expected. The dashboard dynamically adjusts based on each user’s permissions. Builders and admins see more actions than standard users.
