How to Add and Configure File Upload Fields

Learn how to add and configure file upload fields in Smarter Drafter Pro.

File Upload fields allow form fillers to upload documents or images as part of their submission. These files can be embedded into the final document or provided as separate downloadable attachments. This guide explains how to add a File Upload field and control the types and number of files allowed.

Instructions

  1. In the Form Builder, click Add Field in the section where you want to collect uploads.
  2. Select File Upload from the field type list.
  3. Enter your question label (e.g. “Upload ID Document” or “Attach Supporting Evidence”).
  4. In the extension settings, choose between:
    • Image: Allows only image files (PNG, JPG, JPEG, SVG)
    • File: Allows documents, spreadsheets, emails, and more
  5. Set any upload limitations:
    • File type restrictions
    • Maximum number of files
    • Maximum file size (for images)
  6. Click Save.
