How to Create and Use a Static Snippet
Learn how to create and use a static snippet in Smarter Drafter Pro.
Static snippets are reusable blocks of text that can be inserted into templates. They’re perfect for standard clauses or paragraphs that don’t need to change based on the form submission. Once created, they can be added to any Word template using the Word Add-In.
Instructions
1. Create a Static Snippet
- Navigate to Application Settings > Snippets.
- Click New Snippet.
- Enter a Name and optionally add a Description to help you identify it later.
- In the editor, add your static text content.
- Click Save.
NOTE: Snippets support basic formatting and can include tables, lists, and headings.
2. Insert a Static Snippet into a Word Template
- Open your Word template.
- Launch the Word Add-In.
- In the Add-In pane, click More
- Go to the Snippets tab.
- Find your snippet by name.
- Click Insert to place it into your template at the cursor position.
NOTE: You can insert the same snippet into multiple templates. Updates to the snippet will flow through to all templates where it’s used once re-uploaded.
Tips for Use
- Use snippets for common disclaimer text, firm boilerplate, or anything that doesn’t rely on dynamic fields.
- Combine snippets with automated sections for mixed content templates.
- Keep snippet names clear and consistent so they’re easy to find in the Add-In.
