How to Use and Edit an Option Set in a Field

Learn how to use and edit an option set in a field in Smarter Drafter Pro.

Once you’ve created an Option Set, you can insert it into a new field to save time and keep your forms consistent. You can also customise the list at the field level without affecting the original Option Set.

Instructions

1. Insert an Option Set into a field

  1. In the form builder, create a Radio, Select (dropdown), or Checkbox field.
  2. Go to the Options tab.
  3. Click + Add from Option Set.
  4. Browse or search for the Option Set you want to use.
  5. Click the tick icon next to the set to insert it.
  6. The full list of options will be added to the field.

2. Adjust the list (if needed)

  • After inserting an Option Set, you can:
    • Reorder options using the drag handles
    • Delete options that aren’t needed in this field
    • Add new field-specific options
    • Enable logic or the ‘Other’ toggle for individual items

NOTE: Changes made here do not affect the original Option Set saved in Settings.

3. Edit the original Option Set (if required)

  • To update the Option Set at its source:
  1. Go to Settings > Option Sets.
  2. Find the set and click the pencil icon to edit.
  3. Add, remove, or reorder items as needed.
  4. Click Save.

Common Issues & Solutions

  • Issue: Changes to the Option Set don’t appear in existing fields
  • Solution: Option Sets are not live-linked. If you want the updated version in a form, delete the old list and reinsert the updated set.
  • Issue: Can’t find the Option Set
  • Solution: Confirm the Option Set was saved under the correct name. Use the search function to locate it.
