How to Configure Section Block Permissions
Learn how to configure section block permissions in Smarter Drafter Pro.
Section block permissions in Smarter Drafter enable you to control who can access and modify section blocks within your forms. This guide will walk you through the process of configuring section block permissions for specific users or groups.
Instructions
1. Navigate to Permissions Settings
- In the top navigation bar, go to Settings.
- Click on Permissions to access the permission settings page.
2. Select a User or Group
- In the User Permissions tab, find and select the user or user group you wish to assign section block permissions to.
- Click on the user or group's name to open their individual permission settings.
- Choose Section Block Permissions
- Scroll down to the Section Block Permissions section. Here you will see a list of all section blocks available in your system.
3. Assign Permissions for Section Blocks
- In the section block list, select the permissions you want to grant the user for each section block. Available permissions include:
- Read: Allows the user to view the section block in build mode.
-
- Edit: Grants permission to edit the section block.
-
- Delete: Allows the user to delete the section block.
-
- Add (folder-level only): Allows the user to add new section blocks to the folder.
- You can apply these permissions for each section block individually.
4. Enable Library Admin for Full Access
- If you want to grant full control over section blocks (including the ability to create new section blocks and manage permissions), select the Library Admin option. This will allow the user to manage all section blocks within the system, but it does not automatically grant access to existing folders or forms.
5. Save Your Changes
- After selecting the desired permissions, click the Save button at the bottom of the screen to apply your changes.
Common Issues & Solutions
- Issue: The "Edit" permission is not available for section blocks.
- Solution: Ensure that the user has been granted Library Admin or appropriate permissions to edit section blocks. If the issue persists, check whether they have access to the specific folder containing the section block.
