How to Assign Permissions for Application Settings in Builder

Learn how to assign permissions for application settings in builder in Smarter Drafter Pro.

Application settings permissions in Smarter Drafter allow you to control who can access and modify specific builder-related functions across all forms. This guide will walk you through how to assign permissions for application settings to users or groups, enabling them to manage features such as option sets and snippets.

Instructions

1. Navigate to Permissions Settings

  • From the top navigation bar, go to Settings.
  • Click on Permissions to open the permission settings page.

2. Select a User or Group

  • In the User Permissions tab, search for the user or group you want to assign application settings permissions to.
  • Click on the user or group name to open their individual permission settings.

3. Locate Application Settings Permissions

  • Scroll to the Application Settings section under Builder Permissions. Here, you can see a list of all builder-related functions that can be enabled or disabled for the user.

4. Assign Permissions for Application Settings

  • For each feature listed, you will see checkboxes to enable or disable access:
    • Option Sets: Allows users to view and manage option sets used across all forms.
    • Snippets: Grants users the ability to view and edit text snippets used in the builder.
  • Check the box next to the desired setting to grant the user permission to access and manage that function.

5. Save Your Changes

  • After selecting the appropriate permissions, click the Save button at the bottom of the screen to apply your changes.



Common Issues & Solutions

  • Issue: A user is unable to access option sets or snippets.
  • Solution: Ensure that you have enabled access to these features in the Application Settings section. If the issue persists, confirm that the user has sufficient builder-level permissions to access the relevant forms.
