How to Edit Form Settings (Description, Time Estimate, Suitable For)

Learn how to edit form settings (description, time estimate, jurisdiction) in Smarter Drafter Pro.

Editing form settings allows you to add descriptions, time estimates, and jurisdiction details, providing helpful information to users filling out the form. This guide will show you how to edit these settings.

Instructions

1. Open the Form Settings

  1. Go to Build > Forms and select the form you want to edit.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. Edit the Settings
  4. Once the edits are made, click Save to update.

NOTE: Ensure you are viewing the published version of the form (you cannot access settings in draft mode).


Different types of settings:

  • Description: A brief description that will appear in the form list to help users identify the form.
  • Minutes to complete: Enter an estimated time for how long it should take to complete the form.
  • Suitable for: Select the relevant jurisdiction(s) for which the form is applicable.
  • Tags: Used as additional search terms for the form.
  • Placeholder limit: The maximum number of 'Use placeholder' toggles users can use during the form-filling process.

Common Issues & Solutions

  • Issue: Unable to save form settings.

  • Solution: Ensure all mandatory fields are completed and try again.
