How to Automatically Create Fields for All Profile Details with User Mapping

Learn how to automatically create fields for all profile details with user mapping in Smarter Drafter Pro.

Automatically creating fields for all profile details with User Mapping saves you time by quickly generating fields that are pre-mapped to the corresponding user profile data. This feature is ideal when you need to collect multiple details from the user’s profile in one go, ensuring all available data is automatically populated.

Instructions

1. Create a New Section

  • Begin by creating a new section in your form.
  • Set the section name, alias, and any necessary properties.

2. Add Fields for User Details

  • Create the fields that you wish to collect from the user’s profile (e.g., name, email, address, phone number).
  • Set up aliases and properties as needed.

3. Open the User Mapping Interface

  • In the section banner, click on the waffle menu (three dots or options menu).
  • Select Map fields to users from the dropdown.

4. Add Mapped Fields Automatically

  • In the User Mapping window, click on Add Mapped Fields.
  • Smarter Drafter will automatically create a field for each available user detail, such as name, email, phone number, etc.
  • These fields will be pre-mapped to the corresponding profile data, ensuring all the information is ready for automatic population when the form is filled.

5. Apply Reference/Label for the Fields

  • A prompt will appear asking for a reference or label to describe the fields (e.g., “User Information”).
  • Enter a label that makes sense for your form, then click OK.

6. Adjust Field Settings

  • In the form, make any necessary adjustments to the newly created fields, such as:
    • Entering aliases
    • Reordering fields by dragging them
    • Deleting any unneeded fields by multi-selecting and clicking delete
    • Adjusting the field settings (e.g., required, read-only, or optional)
    • Setting name cases, address formats, or date formats as needed.

7. Finish and Save the Section

  • Once all adjustments are made, and you’re happy with the setup, save the section and continue building the form.

Common Issues & Solutions

  • Issue: Fields are missing after clicking Add Mapped Fields.
  • Solution: Ensure that you’ve selected the correct section and that the user profile contains all the relevant data. If some fields are not appearing, they might not be available in the user profile.
  • Issue: I need to add more user details, but there are no extra fields available.
  • Solution: If there are additional user details that need to be mapped, ensure that those fields are included in the user profile or manually add them.
